How to

Step 1

Download the free Christmas embroidery designs and transfer to your Brother embroidery machine.

Step 2 - making the felt embroidery pieces

Watch the video and then stitch the designs out on to the felt.

Not sure which stabiliser to use? Check out our ‘Know your stabilisers’ blog post.

Step 3 - making the felt embroidery pieces

Using the curved scissors, cut the designs out as close to the embroidery as possible.

Step 4 - making the freestanding lace pieces

Watch the video and then stitch the designs out on to the water-soluble stabiliser.

Note: make sure to use the same colour thread on your bobbin thread as is will show on the freestanding lace.

Step 5 - making the freestanding lace pieces

Rinse the embroidery in water until all the water-soluble stabiliser has dissolved and allow the piece to dry.

Step 6 - making the embroidered Christmas wreath

Assemble the pieces together on the hand embroidery hoop. You can really get creative with your design here.

To add wording, embroider Christmas phrases onto ribbon using your Brother embroidery machine. You will need to ‘float’ the ribbon on your embroidery stabiliser.
