Triple floating diamond card

With plenty of space to add embellishments and sentiments, this triple floating diamond card holds no end of mantel piece appeal.  

The included slipcover is the perfect protector for a hand-delivered card. John Bloodworth, The Gentleman Crafter, shows us how to make this perfect handmade card to convey your sentiments. 


Materials needed

Paper/card (all minimum size A4 or US Letter)

  • Three sheets of 12 x 12” 80lb/210gsm cardstock
  • Three sheets of 12 x 12” 65lb/160gsm double sided patterned paper

You will also need

  • Bookbinding glue or low tack quick grab glue
  • Assorted embellishments (optional)

How to

Step 1
 

Open the download in CanvasWorkspace (the desktop version).

Important: you need to work with the desktop version of CanvasWorkspace to open this file, not the web version. You can download the desktop version here.


Step 2 

Open the layers tab on the right. Refer to the cutting list and the steps below to cut all the pieces you will need, then watch the video to see how to assemble the card as well as the slipcover.

Step 3 

Hide and lock all layers except the one titled 1. Transfer this to your machine using the File>Export/Transfer FCM File menu option. Cut two from 12 x 12” cardstock.


Step 4 

Hide and lock all layers except the one titled 2. Transfer this to your machine using the File>Export/Transfer FCM File menu option. Cut one from 12 x 12” cardstock. 


Step 5

Hide and lock all layers except the one titled 3. Transfer this to your machine using the File>Export/Transfer FCM File menu option. Cut one from the 12 x 12” patterned paper.


Step 6

Hide and lock all layers except the one titled 4. Transfer this to your machine using the File>Export/Transfer FCM File menu option. Cut one from the 12 x 12” patterned paper. 


Step 7 

Hide and lock all layers except the one titled 5. Transfer this to your machine using the File>Export/Transfer FCM File menu option. Cut one from the 12 x 12” patterned paper. 


Step 8 

Assemble as shown in the video.
