ScanNCut vegan leather cuff and jewellery hardware

Vegan leather cuff

Create your own fashion accessory with your ScanNCut!

With its ability to cut most materials up to 3mm thick, you can use your ScanNCut to precisely cut Kraftex vegan leather to make this stunning cuff.

Materials needed

  • Two pieces of Kraftex, each 4 x 11”. It is important that you use the original unwashed version and not the dyed version which has been pre-washed
  • Two hitch or screw knob fasteners, with hitch top part size: 0.375” (8mm) wide
  • One 25mm split ring
  • Fabric glue

General tools

  • Tweezers
  • Small fabric clips
  • Large fabric clips (you can use pegs if you don’t have the type of clips shown in the video)
  • Iron (optional)
  • For the decorative stitching I used a sewing machine. This is optional. You could also use a hand needle and thread.

How to

Step 1

Download the CanvasWorkspace project file. Open it in CanvasWorkspace (the desktop version). Transfer the design to your cutting machine.

Step 2

Place the two pieces of Kraftex on your cutting mat side by side. Cut the design.

Step 3

Wash the Kraftex pieces and allow to dry flat. This will remove the binder that makes the material stiff and make it more flexible and fabric-like. If needed, give them a little press with an iron once they are dry.

Step 4

Glue the two large pieces of Kraftex together, making sure to leave the area around the two slots unglued.

Step 5

Wrap the smaller pieces around the split ring and glue in place as shown in the video.

Step 6

If you would like to, add some decorative stitching with a sewing machine.

Step 7

Fix the hitch fasteners in place.
