Red 3D post box made from paper with Brother ScanNCut

Vintage 3D post box

Receive cards in style with this fully functional British-style post box papercraft project.

Perfect for Valentine’s, weddings, birthdays, baby showers and any event or time of the year when cards are exchanged. Change the colour of the red card to match the theme or colour palette of your event.

Best of all, the lid comes off for safe removal of the cards – meaning you can re-use it on multiple different occasions.

Size
Post box measures approximately 250mm wide by 500mm high. You can post cards with a maximum width of 125 x 175mm through the open slot.

Materials needed

Paper/card

  • 10 sheets of 12 x 12” red colour-core cardstock. I recommend a minimum 180gsm/65lb colour-core cardstock. Using thicker card may make the project difficult or impossible to assemble effectively and using thinner might make it less structurally sound.
  • 6 sheets of 12 x 12” black colour-core cardstock. I recommend a minimum 180gsm/65lb colour-core cardstock. Using thicker card may make the project difficult or impossible to assemble effectively and using thinner might make it less structurally sound.

You will also need

  • Bookbinding glue or low tack/quick grab glue
  • For scoring the fold lines, I recommend a fine tipped stylus and a metal ruler

Equipment needed

ScanNCut - hardware
