Gothic gift box

Whether you’re getting ready for the spooky season, or just love the gothic look, this papercraft giftbox created by the Gentleman Crafter is perfect for dramatic gift giving.

You will need

ScanNCut - hardware

OR

Brother ScanNCut – any SDX model
Standard mat [CADXMATSTD12]
Standard autoblade [CADXBLD1] and holder [CADXHLD1]

ScanNCut - software
CanvasWorkspace (desktop version)

Paper/card (all minimum size A4 or US Letter)

  • 5 sheets of 12” x 12” 65lb/180gsm cardstock

You will also need

  • Bookbinding glue or low tack/quick grab glue with a fine tipped applicator.
  • For scoring the fold lines, I recommend a fine tipped stylus and a metal ruler.
  • Assorted decorations/embellishments/die cuts to decorate.
  • If you plan to do the optional dry-brushed effect, you will also need acrylic paint or a pigment inkpad and a course, short-haired paintbrush.

How to

Download the CanvasWorkspace project file below.

Download

  1. Open the CanvasWorkspace project file in CanvasWorkspace (desktop version).
  2. Open the layers tab on the right.
  3. Hide and lock all layers except the one titled “GGB1”.
  4. Transfer this to your machine using the File>Export/Transfer FCM File… menu option and cut one set. This will require ONE sheet of 12” x 12” cardstock.
  5. Hide and lock all layers except the one titled “GGB2”.
  6. Transfer this to your machine using the File>Export/Transfer FCM File… menu option and cut one set. This will require ONE sheet of 12” x 12” cardstock.
  7. Hide and lock all layers except the one titled “GGB3”.
  8. Transfer this to your machine using the File>Export/Transfer FCM File… menu option and cut one set. This will require ONE sheet of 12” x 12” cardstock.
  9. Hide and lock all layers except the one titled “GGB4”.
  10. Transfer this to your machine using the File>Export/Transfer FCM File… menu option and cut two sets. This will require TWO sheets of 12” x 12” cardstock.
  11. Assemble as shown in the video below.
