Artspira is among five Brother products awarded this prestigious accolade this year
We’re extremely proud to announce that the Brother Artspira cutting, printing, and embroidery design app has won a 2024 Good Design Award.
It is the 32nd consecutive year a Brother product has been named as a Good Design Award winner since 1993.
Including this year’s five winners, Brother has now been awarded a total of 235 awards since it received its first in 1960 for a home sewing machine. Artspira was nominated alongside Brother document scanners, laser printers, and P-touch label printers.
The jury praised Artspira for its support to users’ creativity through its editing functions and by gathering different crafts on a single platform. It also emphasised the accessibility of the app for beginners as well as the more advanced personalisation features which allow all level of crafters to enhance their creative projects through Artspira.
They wrote: “By enabling users to edit and execute different tasks such as embroidery, cutting and printing on a single app, it supports general users in creating a variety of handmade crafts more easily. By connecting home appliances to the internet, it lowers the barrier to entry for beginners, while providing advanced customisation features for advanced users, making it a good example of the use of IoT.”
Nobuhiro Konishi, managing director at BSME commented: “We’re thrilled that Artspira’s advanced technology has been recognised with this prestigious award. Brother’s dedication to bringing technologically advanced, easy-to-use products to market has once again been acknowledged through the Good Design Award.
“We are proud of every member of every team within Brother who has worked hard to make Artspira a possibility and a success. Brother will continue to stay ‘At your side’ by bringing its craft community new and innovative ways to get creative.”
The Brother Artspira design app is the ideal companion to any wireless compatible Brother embroidery machine, craft printer or ScanNCut DX home cutting and scanning machine. Whatever their craft level, users can easily edit, design, and create on-the-go, then transfer their ideas to their machines. Artspira also recently brought more magic to crafting with its new library of Disney inspired cutting and embroidery designs.
The Good Design Award was created in 1957 in Japan as a comprehensive design evaluation and promotion system. It evaluates not only the beauty of the product but also its positive impacts on people, society, and the future, therefore answering modern concerns. It is internationally recognised, leading both international and national contestants to try to obtain the precious ‘G mark’ symbol.
